Bellevue Club CUP Guidelines

2026–2027 Season

The following rules will be applied for team placement and movement during the 2026–2027 CUP season. CUP placement will be based on a combination of:

• Previous season’s CUP results
• USTA rating
• Dynamic rating
• Compliance with SACT Guidelines-Seattle Area CUP Tennis

Team Formation Criteria

Evergreen

• USTA Rating 2.5

Emerald

• USTA Rating 2.5–3.0
• At least 50% of players must be rated 3.0
• Players rated 2.5 will be evaluated based on performance

Classic

• USTA Rating 3.0–3.5
• No 2.5 players permitted

Rainier

• USTA Rating 3.5–4.0
• At least 65% of players must be rated 3.5
• Generally, 3.0 players should not be at this level; strong 3.0 players will be individually evaluated

Challenge

• USTA 3.5–4.5
• At least 65% of players must be rated 4.0 or above

Kingco

• USTA 4.0–4.5

Movement Between Levels

Moving Up One Level:

• Minimum 70% winning percentage
• 30% of matches played on Court #1, and a combined 60% of matches played on Courts #1 and #2 – players will receive 1/10 of a point each time they play court #1
• Minimum of 6 matches played

Moving Down One Level:

• Less than 25% winning percentage

Registration Requirement

• Players must register with a partner
• Both partners must meet the above placement criteria
• Players registering without a partner will be placed on a team on space available basis

• Complete the online registration form- the online registration form will be available on Monday, April 13 at 8 AM.
• Players must register as a doubles team. Each player must submit their own registration form.
• Exception: Players at the Evergreen and Kingco levels can register individually.
• Single registrations for the Emerald, Classic, Rainier and Challenge levels will be placed on a team on spaces available basis.

Bellevue Club CUP Tennis 2026-27 Overview

Once registration closes and the number of players at each level is confirmed, teams will be organized by Bellevue Club and team captains will be appointed. A weekly practice schedule for the entire season will also be set. Note that there is no guarantee that your team will have the same practice time as in previous seasons or you will have the same team captain.

PRACTICES & MATCHES

Each CUP team practices once a week with Bellevue Club pros and has one match per week. Players who feel they cannot commit to 65% of the practices and matches should not register for this program!

Below is a list of match days for each level:

Kingco | Fridays

Challenge | Tuesdays

Rainier | Wednesdays

Classic | Thursdays

Emerald | Fridays

Evergreen | Mondays

Each match consists of three competitive doubles matches. The lineup is determined by the team captain.

PARTICIPANT COMMITMENT

Players must commit to participating in matches and regular weekly team practices from September through February. While attendance at every match is not required, players should be available for at least 65% of both home and away matches, as well as weekly practices throughout the season. Failure to meet this commitment may result in a review and potential loss of position on the team.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

This year, the Club will charge a monthly fee of $155 for participation in the program.

• The Club will provide new tennis balls and reserve courts for home matches.
• Weekly practices will be conducted by Bellevue Club pros.
• An end-of-season luncheon will be held.
• Guest fees for away matches are approximately $18 but may vary depending on the host club.
• Team uniforms are optional.
• All CUP Team members must pay the monthly fee to be eligible for match play.
